Overthinking & inability to take decisions were my 2 major weaknesses before I came across the book 5 Second Rule.

What used to happen earlier with me was,

whenever I used to decide that anyhow I’ve to complete my project/assignment/study by 10 pm and the moment I sat down to work, the brain started producing thoughts like, Let’s watch something entertaining to refresh the mood for 10-15 minutes

but, I never stopped there and used to stuck there wasting endless hours over the internet.

And, at this moment, I can bet many of you my friends must be having few pending works which you’ve to complete but you’ve reached here.

Don’t worry. I guarantee you your time will not be wasted.

Why does this happen with us?

Look, our mind is designed in such a way to protect us from doing hard work or any work which requires more effort, irrelevant of its necessity.

And everything that we want to accomplish whether it’s building a business, studying hard, networking, learning something new etc.these all requires an immense effort.

& our brain is constantly searching ways to prevent us from doing hard work.

& that’s why we end up wasting our time over unproductive activities.

But, what is the solution?

The solution which I am going to give you is really unbelievable, simple but not easy.

Some of you may find it weird but it works. It has changed lives of many people across the world
(including mine).

The rule is called The 5 Second Rule.

Now, what is The 5 Second Rule?

The moment when you’ve got an instinct to act on a goal. You must count 5-4-3-2-1 & physically move your body to action before your brain kills that instinct.

  • You can use this rule to jump out of bed when you’re feeling lazy or sleepy or You can use this to push yourself to go to the gym when you aren’t feeling it.
  • It can help you to step out of your comfort zone & become more effective at work.

Now, you may be wondering, How can 1 simple rule work in so many ways?

The answer is, The 5-second rule is working only on one thing & that’s YOU.

YOU are the problem in your life & in 5 seconds you can push yourself & become the solution. You’ve greatness within you & this rule gives you the courage to hear your greatness & act on it.

When you start to count 5-4-3-2-1, it distracts you from the worries, thoughts & fear that occur in your mind due to overthinking. By procrastinating you’re convincing yourself that now isn’t your time.

You’re acting against your dreams.

Instead of doing this, replace it with a new habit of 5-4-3-2-1 & G0.

I know, I know that’s not easy. But

Hitting the snooze button is normal, feeling sick is normal, we are humans, we’ve emotions. That’s life.

Always remember you’re only 5 seconds away to taking control again.

I have taken this learning from the very famous book THE 5 SECOND RULE by Mel Robbins.

It’s an amazing book. I highly recommend this book if you think too much before doing any work & laziness & procrastination has overpowered you. You can buy this book by clicking on the pic below.

Okay, So you’ve made up your mind to start with Entrepreneurship/ Startup.

& Now you are here searching ways from where and how to start things fast. Don’t worry. You are not alone.

I am not going to discuss here ‘How Entrepreneurship or Starting something of your own is more required in the 21st century than simply working under for someone else in a company.

You already know that. That’s why you are here. Let’s begin.

Before moving ahead, this will help you realize how much you’ve to be focused. Although starting a business is not that easy.

Every moment in business happens only once.

The next Bill Gates will not build an Operating System.

The next Larry Page won’t make a search engine.

The next Mark Zuckerberg won’t create a social network. If you’re copying these guys, you’re making a mistake. Let me explain you How.

When we copy the successful model, we move from 1 to n. But, when we create something new. We move from 0 to 1.

Let us take an example.

If you take 1 typewriter & build 100, you’ve moved from 1 to n or we can say that you’ve made a horizontal progress & If you have a typewriter & build a word processor, you’ve moved from 0 to 1 or we can say that you’ve made a vertical progress.

Let me explain you through another example.

Suppose, If someone has opened a product selling store and You’ve also opened the same product selling store & along with you many more people have opened the same business.

What is going to happen?

Obviously, there will be a rise in competition & you will be compelled to sell the product at whatever price the market determines.

& In a competitive market, no company makes an economic profit in long run. But, there is another best option also.

& that is to move from 0 to 1 or create something new valuable product which nobody else is building.

& when you create something new business, you can set your own price since it has no competition. This way you will be able to create a monopoly in the market.

Google is a great example of the monopoly. It has killed its competition (Yahoo, Microsoft)  in search engine since early 2000.

So, the lesson for Entrepreneurs is clear here: If you want to grow your business from daily struggle for survival, you have to look for ways to avoid competition & create a monopoly.

In other words, we can also say that the companies failed because they failed to escape the competition, on the other hand, the companies succeed because they created the monopoly.

These were the TWO MOST IMPORTANT LESSONS which I wanted to discuss with you.

You can watch this beautiful video which I created for you to understand in a more better way.

These were the learnings from THE BOOK- ZERO TO ONE  by Peter Thiel & Blake Masters.

I highly recommend this book if you are serious about starting a startup or business or anything of your own. This book gives you the detailed insight of

  • venture capitalist
  • how the fund is raised & its importance in any startup
  • what should be the company’s work culture.
  • how to recruit people
  • how to sell anything
  • why sales is important
  • & almost everything you’ll require to start any business.

Everybody wants to be successful but not everybody wants to do what it takes to be successful.

Friends, you all must be having your one dream or one ambition or one goal which you wanted to accomplish such as,

If you like Singing, wanted to be like Arijit Singh

If you like Cricket, wanted to be like M.S. Dhoni

If you like Boxing, wanted to be like Vijender Singh

If you like Badminton, wanted to be like P.V. Sindhu

If you like acting, wanted to be like your favorite actor/actress. etc.etc.

Do you want to know what is the reason behind their success in life?

I am going to share with you their one common secret so that you can also apply it into your life to achieve your one thing.

Let’s begin,

What happens is whenever you watch videos on personal development like mine, Sandeep Maheshwari etc you try to be good at everything and want to develop yourself in every aspect at the same time.

You make a to-do-list of waking up early, then going to the gym, preparing breakfast, practicing guitar, going to martial arts class and then watching, listening or reading something that develops your skills and finally working on your different business ideas.

And this sounds so good & makes you motivated & excited.

But next day the result is after 3-4 activities, your willpower goes down & almost gets consumed up.

If you manage to do everything, you end up being average at everything.

If you look at the life of your ideal successful person,

You don’t see Arijit Singh, a basketball champion along with music or

Vijender Singh, a cricket player along with boxing or

P.V.Sindhu, an online entrepreneur along with badminton or

Mark Zuckerburg, a bodybuilder along with Facebook CEO or

Ritesh Agarwal, a professional chef along with OYO rooms business owner.

So, this concludes that,

Every Successful person has The One Thing which they focus on.

Now, let me clear you that

I am not defining success for you. We all love to have a balanced life but to have a balanced life you must focus on your one thing for a time being.

For eg)

If you want to be a motivational speaker, you have to invest your time improving your real life convincing & communication skills, you have to improve your practical knowledge by learning from mentors, books and many other sources, & then you have to practice it by starting small.

& you must assign at least 4 hours a day to your one thing of your life.

It’s time to provide you 3 most important suggestion from the Book which I am summarizing today.

1) Everything doesn’t matter equally

There are thousand of things in which we can spend our time daily. So,

Try to invest your time according to the priority & importance of the work.

2) Avoid multitasking

We are humans, we are not machines.

We can’t multitask things without losing productivity.

The idea of The one thing is to be Single-minded.

3) Willpower can’t be called anytime.

Our willpower is like a battery. It gets a discharge with time.

So, don’t waste your willpower on the things which don’t hold importance in your life.

I’ve created this amazing video with love for you only on the same topic discussed above. Must watch this. you’ll love it.

I highly recommend this book if you’re determined to see yourself at the top in your field. This book will keep you in the right direction whenever you’re distracted.

You can check this book out from here: THE ONE THING BOOK

A Rich is not who has the most money but he who has the rich mind.

According to study,

Most of the rich were once poor, the only thing that made them rich is the quality of thoughts they allow into their minds throughout their existence.

& Friends, If you happen to get a glimpse into a millionaire mind, you will eventually figure out how to become one yourself

First, Let us know

How is the mindset developed?

There is a word called Verbal Conditioning. Now, what is verbal conditioning?

  • It is the belief that you verbalize aloud to your children will have the major impact on their future lives.
  • Often we blame the poverty & hatred in the society to the filthy rich people.
  • And by doing this, Parents actually teaching their children unknowingly to be poor for the rest of their lives.
  • And when a child notices a business opportunity, he ignores it by thinking money is associated with evil people.

More importantly,

It’s not that our parents are evil or anything, they themselves have inherited their beliefs from their parents & grandparents.

I am going to give you few differences between RICH & POOR mindset so that you can prevent yourself from poor mindset & shift to the rich mindset.

NOTE– If I use the word ‘rich people’ that only means the rich mindset and ‘poor people’ that means the poor mindset }

  • Rich people think big. Poor people think small.

Ex) Often we waste our time waiting in order to buy something at a cheaper rate and this becomes the habit and we start applying it everywhere without realizing that time is more important.

This is the poor mentality. whereas,

Rich mentality directs people to save their time and utilizing that time to cultivate their values so that an hour of their time will be worth more.

  • Rich people focus on opportunities. Poor people focus on obstacles.

Ex) Poor people say I really want to start this business but the competition is so high. Probably this wouldn’t work.

Rich people say I am going to study my competitions well and focus on providing value through my product which is currently not available in the market.

  • Rich people admire other rich & successful people. Poor people feel bitter about them.

Ex) Whenever a poor mentality person sees an expensive car or house, they say negative about the owner & think that they have made it by gambling or some wrong work.

Rich mentality people think, wow that’s a nice car. I am going to pick up a book, learn & do whatever is required if I have to build such empire and I can also make it.

  • Rich people are willing to promote themselves & their values. Poor people think negative about selling & promotion.

Guys, This is a useful one.

I know there are a lot of people who actually think that selling stuff and promoting them is a bad thing (ex-network marketing)

Our own parents, relatives & friends say a demeaning word in our language for someone who sells stuff. This is a Poor mentality.

& when you look up to their lives, what they do. They just sell themselves for someone else daily for 10-12 hours to earn money.

But, the reality is Sales & Promotion is one the most important component of any business.

Rich mentality people know the importance of selling & promotion and don’t hesitate.

  • Rich people choose to get paid based on results. Poor people choose to get paid based on time.

This is what is happening all around.

People are dying to get paid based on their time in a 9-5 job. They want fast money so they take an easy option to get paid in return for their time & the cycle never stops.

Rich mentality people choose to work on their idea or passion or business maybe for 18 hours a day but based on results not based on time.

So that they don’t have to work for the whole life in a cycle for someone else in return for their precious time.

  • Rich people manage their money well. Poor people mismanage their money.

Poor mentality people don’t have any idea what they are doing with their money once they receive a paycheck.

Rich mentality people cut their useless expenses because they know they might need them when they have to invest in something useful.

They learn these skills of money through the book like The Richest Man in Babylon.( The most inspiring book on wealth ever written). You can get this book from here.

  • Rich people constantly learn & grow. Poor people think they already know.

Friends, You can easily relate to this. This is one of the biggest obstacles.

In our society, there is so much pressure to earn good marks in academics that you couldn’t be able to study apart from your course book.

And after acquiring 2-3 degrees, people start thinking that they already know everything.

Even though they are doing corporate slavery to feed themselves & their family but they refuse to learn about money and building their own life because they have become blind due to the ego of their several degrees.

Rich mentality people always focus on improving themselves by learning about the money & how it’s made etc.

As they know the best is always to come.

That’s why I always encourage you through My YouTube & Blog to read self-help books along with your study guys.

Again let me recommend you an amazing book here to develop the millionaire mindset named SECRETS OF THE MILLIONAIRE MIND by T.Harv Eker.

This is an amazing book to develop your rich mentality and avoid poor mentality to succeed in life.
